As expected, the massive effects of the corona pandemic on mechanical engineering in Baden-Württemberg are becoming apparent in April with a minus of 41 percent compared to the same month last year.

The mechanical engineering industry in Baden-Württemberg is increasingly feeling the consequences of the corona pandemic and is taking active countermeasures. A current VDMA survey shows that 88 percent of the companies from the southwest that were surveyed have already made capacity adjustments.

In March 2020, incoming orders in Baden-Wuerttemberg's mechanical engineering industry were 4 percent lower than in the same month last year.
Use of mouth-nose covers and masks
The state of Baden-Württemberg has decided to make it compulsory to wear so-called everyday masks covering mouth and nose when shopping and in local public transport from 27 April 2020.
